"Do Charity Work"
"If you can get people excited about your work- they will want to get involved"
"Gotta do a bit of merch these days"
Tips From Lee
Start a project with 'What do you want?'
Time : Always double the time
Don't free pitch
Ask shit questions (everyone else is probably thinking the same)
Know the audience
Don't design for portfolio
Keep some work offline- so when you go to an interview there is something extra that they haven't seen
What Did I learn
Don't be afraid to put yourself out there/ask for things
Work with as many different people as you can
Send things to people (get yourself noticed)
Experiment
Always have 'hobby projects' on the side. Just little ideas that you have- Do them! Have Fun!
Overall, this talk made me realise that I should never be afraid to ask or approach someone about something. Everyone was in the same position at some point. Be confident.
